How NOT to Store Passwords! - Computerphile

Friendly bit of advice to folks on this subject...

1.) Never use the same password twice.

2.) NEVER sign into something with Facebook. Zuckerberg does not need to know what you are doing off of his site.

3.) Use upper and lowercase letters, numbers and non-alphanumeric characters.

4.) DON'T put any spaces in between the characters. That makes it easier for the bad guys to crack your password.

5.) DON'T USE THINGS THAT PEOPLE WHO KNOW YOU MIGHT BE ABLE TO GUESS. (i.e. Birthdays, dog's name, et al.) Someone I know did that and I cracked the lock-out code on that person's iPad in 3 tries.

6.) Don't create password hints.

7.) Make sure that whatever you do create as a password is something you can remember and input/type very quickly...
