Single Mom Horror Stories

I don't date single mothers. I've had some women harshly criticize me for this personal life choice. Almost every one of them were also single mothers themselves. Interesting correlation, heh?

Anyway, I have written on this topic before. If you've read those posts in the past, you already know that I'm not exactly fond of the concept of women deliberately choosing to raise kids alone. It's just NOT good for the kids at all. There are a lot of government statistics on this fact of life. However, I do have some personal experience with these kinds of people too. Some of them were quite negative... and sometimes VERY awkward. We will discuss two of them today.

No names will be revealed. No one will be bad-mouthed. Some of the players in these stories are either no longer alive or have disappeared from civilization. All stories will involve literal descriptions of what happened and my own sarcastic commentary on some things. That way, you can all make up your own minds while also having a good laugh.

Story #1 - The saga of LD

Timeframe: 1999 through 2008.

This one happened to be someone who was part of a friend group that I had in high school. My association with this group tended to ebb and flow for various reasons, usually not because of anything that any of them did. Life just takes you in random directions sometimes.

LD at this time in 1999 was (I think) either 16 or 17 years old. She was dating a friend of mine that we will refer to as H. Despite the dating relationship with H, LD was still unusually interested in trying to include me in various things and trying to learn about me. She also tried to invite me to her birthday party, but I had refused. I don't remember why. That wasn't unusual for me. I had refused to attend birthday parties for other people in other friend groups at that time too. I found most forms of socialization to be mind-numbingly boring and quite unnecessary in those days. That's what happens when you're an undiagnosed Aspie with ZERO concern about anyone else's feelings most of the time.

PICTURED: My adolescent self whenever
he was asked to do something social...

At that time, I thought LD was just trying to be sociable with her boyfriend's male friends. Perfectly logical, right? Well, unlike my then undiagnosed Aspergian self, this person was not at all logical. The relationship between LD and H fizzled out, as teenage relationships often do. H called me on the phone that summer and told me that LD had a crush on me. I made it quite clear that I had no interest in her. I had nothing in common with her and she looked a LOT younger than she really was too. Despite being a teenager at that time, I swear that she looked more like an 11 or 12 year old instead. Not quite 5ft. tall, skinny to the point of looking emaciated and I strongly suspected that she had mental problems. Not good...

How did I deal with this issue? Well, I didn't. I drifted away from that friend group in the spring of 1999, just wandering through life as I did at the time. When school was back in session that fall, I was already in a completely different area of the school yard during lunch, before school started, etc. I don't remember seeing her again after that for the rest of my high school experience.

Now, we fast forward to 2008. By this point, I'm almost through with my first college degree. I started hanging out with some of those old high school friends again on Friday and/or Saturday nights in various karaoke bars, watching them sing. By this point, I was also getting tired of that activity and started slowly withdrawing from them again. Yes, this is the same group that I wrote about in a previous post about outgrowing friend groups.

Anyway, LD somehow wound up in this group on a regular basis. I have no idea how or why. It didn't take long for her to try to socialize with me on an individual level. I decided to be my usual, standoffish self. While that usually keeps most people away, this one didn't get the message. So much for me getting this person to leave without having to be purposely rude or hurt anyone's feelings...

PICTURED: Me when my usual tactics
don't make annoying people go away...

Back in High School, I thought of this person as just being slightly annoying with her failed attempts at trying to get into my life. Now, it was much worse. She had recently had a baby with some dope who was also hanging out in that bar every weekend. I didn't have much interaction with him. However, I can say that I was definitely NOT interested in following behind him, if y'all know what I mean.

All the stories that LD insisted on telling me about her personal life at that point didn't help, either. I won't repeat the stories here, but I can say that all of them provided me with enough red flags to have a Chi-com parade through Tiananmen Square. This girl was DEEPLY troubled, most likely an unfit parent (and that kid's father certainly was, if the stories I was told were true) and I now had no doubts that she was mentally ill. I would later discover that she was on a lot of medications, which is why she always seemed a bit out of sorts. I don't know if this was why she seemed to be mentally ill to me, but it was likely to be a contributing factor.

Anyway, she also still looked much the same as she did in High School: short and emaciated. Did this girl ever eat? Looking back on it now, I sincerely wish my younger self bought her a meal or two. I will say this much, though. The wardrobe changed a lot. In High School, she wore a lot of flannel shirts. At this time in 2008, I remember her wearing a LOT of black. Not sure if that's relevant, but it is something that I noticed.

This story gets even more twisted. During these evening excursions, I would often step outside of the bar for fresh air. I don't smoke and bars in Jefferson Parish to this day are still friendly to smokers. LD followed me outside for whatever reason and decided to start up a conversation with me. As usual, I remained standoffish, non-committal to anything and quite laconic. Whereas most people would find this mysteriousness very uncomfortable and drift away, this one didn't. Rather annoying, if you ask me. I don't remember most of the conversation. I wasn't paying close attention and most of it was just idle chit-chat. Eventually, the conversation shifted to how everything went to shit with her baby's father. Sad to hear about, but there was nothing I could have done about that situation.

She also went out of her way to bring up music with me, talking about how she left Country behind in favor of my preferred genre: Heavy Metal. My reaction to this development? I don't remember the exact words that I used. It was something along the lines of "Well, congratulations on embracing the one true musical faith, my dear. Why is this relevant to me?" Ever the smart ass, my then 26 year-old self was...

She probably assumed that I didn't understand that she was trying to use that common interest to get closer to me. Despite being an undiagnosed Aspie at the time, I did, in fact, know EXACTLY what she was trying to do. I just didn't want to give her any in-roads into my life. It was obvious that her life was a trainwreck at this point. Having her in my life would have been a disaster waiting to happen. I know that sounds harsh, but it's true. This world is never going to be kind to any of us. You have to be VERY careful about who you let into your inner circle. If you don't, your life will only be that much more complicated.

And now, the story gets even more twisted. In this conversation, she brings up how she used to date H back in High School. H had also found his way into this particular group activity at karaoke bars on occasion, which is probably why she brought him up. He was married at that time, dragged his wife around with him and acted like a real ass. However, that's beyond the scope of this story. She mentioned something about how when she was dating him back in the day, she really wished she was dating me instead. I don't remember even if I responded to this, let alone how I might have reacted. All that I do remember is thinking "I know, LD. H told me about that in 1999." The conversation shifted again, back to the same inane topics that I don't even remember now. We both went back inside a few minutes later. Neither of us ever brought up how she told me she had feelings for me ever again. I think it was pretty awkward for both of us.

PICTURED: How I felt when I was in that particular point in space & time...

Over the next few weeks, LD still kept doing her best to try to get through to me. She tried being friendly and offering to buy me a drink one time. I flat out refused because I don't like alcohol and was going to be driving myself home later. Drinking booze wouldn't have been a good idea, even if I do have a very high tolerance. She didn't quite understand my reluctance, but still accepted the objective reality of the situation. I really don't like alcohol.

Sometime later on a different night, she once again tried initiating conversation with me while we were sitting amongst the group in the bar. Just going on and on about whatever it was... After a while, I just decided to be purposely rude for once because I wanted this non-sense to stop. I blurted out "LD, I just don't care!" Her response to this was to laugh and say "Only you, Publius. Only you..." And some say that we Aspies are bad at picking up hints...

PICTURED: How I feel when people just don't take the freakin' hint...
I chose Dr. Crusher because the Picard facepalm is overused these days.

So, how did I eventually deal with this wannabe Stage-5 clinger? The same way I did in 1999: I didn't deal with it at all. Shortly after the incident that I just described, I decided to leave that friend group for unrelated reasons. After that, she had no way of contacting me anymore... Except through Facebook, which was starting to get popular at this time. She sent THREE friend requests over time, all of which I denied. Then, I discovered the block button and made judicious use of it in this case. (And many times since then...)

PICTURED: How I dealt with uncomfortable
social situations back in the day...

I never had any contact or interaction with this person ever again. I don't know what happened to her or the child she had. I tried finding this person via web search before writing this blog post. No results were found. There were plenty other women with similar names, but not her. I have no idea if she's dead or alive. I hope she found her way and that the child is doing well.

All that being said, I learned a few things from this person. This experience here made me aware of the fact that I had a very serious social deficiency when it came to gently rejecting unwanted advances and/or turning people down. After much work (and, sadly, some more practice with others), I have corrected this issue. Looking back on it now though, I wish I had handled the LD situation in another way. I would have never gotten involved with her on any level. However, I wish I knew how to be more friendly towards her back then. It's now pretty obvious to my older self that this lost soul was looking for some kind of Human connection that was lacking in her life. By trying so hard to make her voluntarily go away, I probably contributed to her varying forms of pain. I won't do that again.

Story #2 - The MANY misadventures caused by BD

Timeframe: Early-to-mid 2000s

This one is about a particular ex-girlfriend of one of my younger brothers. We'll call her BD. She was especially horrible for many reasons. I am thankful to the Lord that she did NOT end up being a sister-in-law to me. She caused an unbelievable amount of drama in my family's lives. My brother's tendency to be overly emotional at times when dealing with women (especially in that time period) didn't help matters. I won't go into all the details, because that would make her story too long for our purposes here.

However, before telling this story, I want to make one thing VERY clear. BD, as 'mentally hilarious' as she was, still went out of her way to be very nice to me. I don't know if this was because she wanted good relations with her boyfriend's family or if my brother warned her about my 'eccentricities' that often made people nervous. I tried my best to be civil with her, but there were a few times she tested my patience. More on that later.

I don't remember how these two met or when they started dating each other. I just thought it was weird that my brother was dating a woman slightly older than him with a son that was (I think) 3 to 4 years old at the time. To me, that was a pretty big red flag. It didn't matter that she came from a wealthy family and had no financial issues from being a single mom. That little boy's existence was proof positive that this girl could make some stunningly bad decisions.

PICTURED: The way I feel whenever I see
a guy setting themselves up for being legally
responsible for other people's kids.

Knowing my brother though, the only thing he was probably focused on was this girl's enormous rack and getting laid with her on a regular basis. (And boy did he ever...) I'll admit that she had nice curves. However, the child, her obviously contrived public persona (Or, 'fake personality' for those who prefer layman's terms) and her manipulative tendencies would have made me run the other way.

PICTURED: How I react whenever I discover that I'm dealing with fake people...

Of course, she ended up being a bit psycho (no surprise) and a real drama queen. She and my brother had fights that could peel paint off the walls. It adversely affected the whole family in various ways. It also caused my brother and father to have quite a few nasty arguments. Damned near ruined a few holidays that way, too. I'll never forgive BD for that shit and lots of other things that I'm purposely leaving out for privacy concerns. Simply put, this one disrupted virtually every sense of order that I had in life. And as we all know, Aspies don't like disruptions in their daily routines.

Anyway, these fights sometimes interfered with the family construction business too. Specifically, she'd call my brother while we were working and start arguments with him. That led to arguments between him and my father, because he was trying to get a job done. Those useless phone calls were adversely affecting our productivity on the job. And we normally did 2 or 3 jobs per day at this time, often on completely different ends of town. Combine this stress, Dad being a real taskmaster, the summer heat and BD playing her games, and it obviously became a shitshow really quick. There was even one time that this chick came out to the job and picked up my brother after he had a nasty argument with Dad about her.

As much as I disliked working in construction, I still found that to be both unprofessional and unacceptable. It made more work for the rest of us on the job site: Me, Dad, my other younger brother and Dad's employees. (I remember at least one of his long-term workers being there that day.) I sincerely doubt that this was something my brother would have done without that miserable little piece of ass playing games with him. I swear, the things that pussy drives a man to do...

Despite having many stories about this person, I am only going to go over two more: an engagement and how that ended.

First, the engagement. I was asleep in my room one night when this chick and my brother just walked right in and woke me up with news. For whatever reason, my brother asked this chick to marry him. In my still half-asleep and confused state, I just looked right at my brother and said 'What the Hell were you thinking, *insert younger brother's name here*?' or something along those lines. He and BD both laughed at this, assuming that I was just being my socially inept self. I wasn't. I was genuinely wondering why he would do something so foolish. I found it rather difficult to get back to sleep that night.

PICTURED: How I feel when NT's
think I'm being funny when I'm not.

Second, how that engagement ended. The details on this aren't clear to me. I wasn't involved in all the conversations or privy to the details. I remember hearing some talk about BD cheating on my brother with some other guy while her 5 year old son was asleep in the same room. Naturally, this pissed off my brother. Knowing him, he probably tracked down that other guy and kicked the ever-lovin' shit out of him while still in rage mode too. If not, he still should have, just on general principle.

PICTURED: The perfect GIF to describe this THOT...

Anyway, things quickly devolved between these two (A fact that brought me a great deal of glee at the time) and everything turned into an all-out war between them. The family went to dinner at one of our favorite Italian restaurants one night. These two got into it again and she left the restaurant. She also took the engagement ring and threw it in the grass outside the restaurant's front door, just to be spiteful. I don't remember how everyone reacted to this, but I do remember that I just went about eating my dinner while ignoring the drama. I felt bad for my poor brother here, but I have to admit that I was also feeling quite pleased with the thought of this chick going her own way. That made the meal all the more tasty.

PICTURED: Me enjoying the Schadenfreude...

Sadly though, this wasn't quite the end. There were more misadventures with this crazy twatwaffle. I won't go into details, but I will say it involved me hanging up the phone on her multiple times when she called my house. (We still had a landline back then.) This probably caused a lot of hurt feelings, but I didn't care. I did NOT want that broad to patch things up with my brother and would not do anything to help facilitate such a horrid mistake.

PICTURED: My reaction to that cheating THOT trying to get back into
my brother's life by using tears and over-emotionalism.
Might have worked on him to some extent, but not me, chicka...

It also involved her coming to the house and me running her off. The less said about that, the better. It involved me embracing my Sicilian heritage and acting like a bit of a gangster. No threats were made, but the intentions were still pretty obvious. She wisely decided to leave of her own free will.

PICTURED: A phrase that I am certain
was a part of that conversation...

She also filed a few police reports against my brother claiming various forms of bullshit. The cops didn't have to do much detective work to figure out that she was a lying cuntrag. The list just goes on and on with this one. I'm damned glad she's gone.

Truthfully, calling that one a THOT just isn't enough...

So, what happened to her? Well, my brother moved away for college and eventually moved on from her too. She eventually married some other fool that was loaded with cash. She's now a mother to at least 4 more kids and lives a life of luxury in Old Metairie. She also still called my brother occasionally for years afterward, but that went nowhere. To this day, my brother is very happy that he got away from her. To this day, I still spit on the ground and curse that THOT's name whenever it's spoken around me. Jesus may be eternally forgiving, but I have my limits. She regularly exceeded them all.

Conan the Barbarian is NOT having any of this bravo sierra...

========

And there we have it, folks. Two reasons why I don't get involved with single mothers. There are others that I could tell. However, I think these are messed up enough. These experiences provided some extremely valuable life lessons for all involved, with the possible exception of the single moms themselves. I got the impression that neither of them even realized how often they made mistakes, let alone learned from them.

Not every single mom that I've met was a psycho, but too many of them were. Even if I didn't have misgivings about raising children that I didn't sire, the mothers themselves would still cause me to bow out and pop smoke. Some of them were just plain CRAZY...

So, if any of you find yourself in a situation where you have a single mother pursuing you, keep these stories in mind. Exercise EXTREME caution and be prepared to disappear.

The different tiers of memes

Some people's meme game is UTTER TRASH. As a Doctor of Memeology and Shitposting, I just can't stand back and continue to witness this travesty. I must educate the masses!

Therefore, I am going to give you all a brief-yet-valuable education on the subject. There are several different tiers of memes, ranging from boring Normie shit to the kind of stuff that will get the villagers to chase after you with torches and pitchforks. Descriptions and examples below.

Tier Zero - Normie Bullshit

Most LOLcat memes, dad jokes & bad puns. Nothing more. Can be funny in the right context, but it won't help you get gigs in the Catskills with a Vaudeville troupe. Often used by geek fandoms who think they are being clever. This is rarely the case.

Good for a slight chuckle, I guess...
I find myself liking this one. It's clean humor at its best.

And no, the LOLcat can NOT have a damned cheeseburger. What kind of irresponsible pet owner feeds an innocent animal some form of food that isn't even good for Humans?

In the context of certain conversations, this can be a laugh riot.
By itself though, not really all that funny.

Tier 1 - Edgyboi material

Pretty much the same as Tier Zero, except slightly more in-your-face. May involve naughty language. Still totally acceptable on censorious Sillycon Valley social media platforms like Fascistbook, but may not get the approval of your pastor or great aunt Ida in Des Moines. These are the kinds of memes that Democrats think are hilarious. Something tells me their sense of humor stopped developing at about age 12. Maybe younger...

Ohhhh... So edgy...

Also can be used to annoy people in certain fandoms. For example...

'Enter Sandman' is a MetallicA song and the photo features PanterA.

Tier 2 - Starts to get annoyingly/hilariously political...

Includes everything from Tier 0 & 1. Also starts to include politics. Might get you sent to FB jail or censored in some other way. Usually much funnier than Tiers 0 and 1. This is also where you would find most of your fake news parodies.

The gaffs that come out of Beijing Biden's mouth, I swear...

It's disturbing and sad to see how much these talking heads get off on other people's pain...

Tier 3 - Now things start getting interesting... and sexy?

Includes everything from Tier 0-2. Now starts including things like drugs, violence and sexuality in its many varied forms. Definitely NOT safe for work. Most likely too much for Normie prudes on shit sites like Facebook. Exercise extreme caution. Or don't. It depends on how much you care about that particular account. If it's troll account, then post away, my dude.

Freakin' hilarious, even to those of us who do NOT partake...

Also, the meme doesn't actually have to feature actual depictions of sex, drugs or violence to be horrifying to the intended victim. The best ones are the ones that merely suggest something dreadful involving sex, drugs and/or violence and creates horrible images in their minds. For example...

I've used this one before across social media and previous posts of this blog.
It's always a big hit. (No pun intended.)

Flying an A-10 is probably the only thing that
could get me to go back to the military...

Of course, you can still use Tier 3 for social commentary purposes. This one here uses the ol' reversal of expectations trick for its comedic effect. As someone who wants a more traditional family situation, I find this one to be quite appealing...

You know society is FUCKED when a traditional nuclear family is somehow considered unusual...

Tier 4 - Starting to get truly horrific...

Includes everything from Tier 0-3. Starts to include imagery and ideological concepts from horror movies and/or religion. Can be VERY dangerous to use on Fascistbook, but also damned hilarious for when you want to piss people off for your own amusement.

The one below was great fun to use after the 2016 election...

I must have scared the shit out of a LOT of Democrats with this one.
After 8 years of Obummer, they should consider this to be getting off light.
The suffering they deserve would be LEGENDARY, even in Hell.

And since we're referencing the Hell Priest here...

Pinhead memes are some of the most hilariously twisted memes you'll ever find.

Also, I tend to use Tier 4 for intimidation purposes. Sometimes, some people just like to get uppity and you have to put them in their place. What better way to instill fear than to use monsters from horror movies?

Amazing how much mileage I've gotten out of this simple shitpost meme that I made in 2008...

Tier 5 - UNLEASH THE HITLER!!!

The only reason these memes should be used is when you want to get permabanned from a site. Or, you just want to troll the shit out of leftist morons who accuse everyone of being a Nazi while they themselves act like a Nazi...

Democrats must have been reading this to their kids for at least 20+ years now...

You can also use Uncle Adolph and his crew to screw with some of the Left's non-sensical beliefs that defy all logic and any semblance of objective reality...

Dammit Hollyweird, why are you always changing the immutable characteristics of characters in previously established franchises? :P

Of course, this tier can still be good for some good old fashioned shitposting with the right meme...

British comedy is so underrated...

Tier 6 - The Nuclear Option

Includes everything from Tier 0-5. The gloves have now come completely off. There are no rules. There are no good audiences for these memes. These are the memes you post when you want to...

- Burn bridges

- Leave no stone on top another

- Murder the men

- Sell the women/children into slavery

- Poison the wells

- Sow salt into the Earth

- Completely forego any further contact with Human Civilization

- Get yourself Perma-banned from whatever website/discussion forum you've decided to alienate.

It can be something EXTREMELY racist... And funny to those who have a sense of humor so dark that the cops will want to shoot at it... Otherwise, be prepared to lose friends. They can also still be used for social/political commentary, if desired.

No caption needed for this one, other than to say Fuck BLM.

Or, it can be something symbolic that displays your utter disdain for the way some groups decide to behave themselves. For example, the LGBT Mafia calling everyone else a Nazi when they are using the same tactics of violence and propaganda that a Nazi Brownshirt would use...

This ought to trigger a few people
that I genuinely wish would slit their wrists...

Or, you can just use the memes to tell the intended victims the God's honest truth...

The public education system is a failure.

The God Emperor has spoken.

And finally, you can just use it to laugh at the intended victims whenever they start getting massively butt-hurt too. The choice is yours...

How can anyone NOT laugh at this one?
Just the ridiculousness alone should make you laugh.

And there you have it, folks. How to uses memes to troll and shitpost like a pro. Now go forth and do that VooDoo that you should now be able to do oh so well.

When I realized that I outgrew a particular friend group...

I have a pretty good story to add to this video's content.

It was 2008. One of my friend groups (the one outside of work or college) largely consisted of people that I knew in High School. We all graduated High School in 2000 through 2002. I was about to graduate from college and start my professional life. Most of the folks in that group were working low-tier jobs for minimum wage, if they were employed at all. Their entire lives revolved around karaoke on Friday and Saturday nights and the vain hope of getting on American Idol. Truth be told, some of them were quite good at singing in multiple genres. (Pop, Metal, Classic Rock, etc.) However, 'singing for your supper' is a privileged career that few will ever have. To my knowledge, they had no backup plan.

Even worse, they were also quite arrogant about a lot of things. Somehow, they decided that I needed a girlfriend and started trying to interfere in that part of my life. Not only did I not appreciate that, they were also trying to stick me with some of the worst examples of female that you can possibly imagine. We're talking massively obese women who...

- Drank to excess
- Smoked
- Probably smoked weed or did some other form of illegal narcotics
- Had little in the way of intelligence
- Had at least 1 lovechild from a previous relationship
- Didn't have much of a job, if they were employed at all
- Were just as arrogant (and possibly just as narcissistic) as the rest
- And, worst of all, still expected the Princess treatment without doing anything to deserve said treatment.

It started with me nicely asking this group to not stick their nose in my business and that I did not like 'the big gals'. They would get butt-hurt, accuse me of 'wanting some Hollywood actress' or some other non-sense and (while wagging the finger at me) insist that I needed to lower my standards. Kinda sounds ridiculous since that was coming from people who had ZERO standards, but whatever.

So, I explained it to them again in a rather nasty way (I'm not repeating anything that was said) and also pointed to their own relationship failures as examples of why I didn't even want their advice. They got even more upset. Pointing towards their own failures might have been going too far, but it was too late for me to really care. I had enough of their non-sense. I just said 'f*** it' and gave all but 2 of them the Pontius Pilate treatment. (i.e. I washed my hands of them and never looked back.)

The 2 that I didn't drop like a bad habit are still friends of mine and did actually make something of themselves. The rest, to my knowledge, never amounted to anything at all. One of them also died in a car crash, taking her daughter with her. That was pretty sad.

As for me... Well, I've had a few careers (5 years in the Army, another 3 working as an INS adjuster, etc.), bought a house and a few vehicles, etc. I'm also about a year away from finishing a 2nd college degree (TYVM G.I. Bill) and am constantly moving upward in life. Dropping those losers was a very good decision on my part. People like that will never do anything but get jealous of your success and try to drag you down with them. I wasn't about to let that happen.

Shaving Blog 3: The Revenge

Humorous titles aside, I am wondering how I got to the point where I'd be writing a third blog on shaving-related topics. However, this one will be shorter than parts 1 & 2, which can be seen here and here. Also, the titles all come from internet jokes or naming tropes for sequels to Hollywood movies. There's nothing crazy or sinister involved.

So, what's getting reviewed this time? More Barbasol products. It's amazing that this company has been around for so long, MUCH cheaper than their competitors and 100% American made. I feel like an idiot for sticking with Gillette as long as I did. It really does pay to do some market research more often. Lesson learned.

Anyway, today we review 2 more of Barbasol's shave products: the Soothing Aloe version of their classic 'beard buster foam' in the aerosol can and the new Barbasol 1919 cream. Both of them are good, but neither of them are going to replace the original formula foam as my regular shaving product. The rest of this blog will explain why.

First, the Soothing Aloe foam. I bought a 5oz. can of this product because my local Dollar Tree was out of stock on the Original formula. I used up the whole can. I think the original lathers up in my shaving mug with the brush slightly better. And when I say 'slightly', I mean the Soothing Aloe version lathers up about 95% as well as the Original. Most guys probably wouldn't even know the difference. Beyond that, it acts/works exactly the same as the Original formula.

Pictured: The 10oz. can of the
Soothing Aloe version.

Next up, we have the new Barbasol 1919 cream. I ordered this from Amazon out of curiosity. From what I've read, this product is also only available through Barbasol's own website and various online retailers. Don't know why it isn't on shelves in Brick and Mortar stores yet. Anyway, I will make this quick by listing its pros and cons.

PRO

- Made in the USA.

- Tube is recyclable and product is cruelty-free. This should appeal to the environmental types.

- I needed only 2 passes over my face to achieve the baby-butt smooth shave, as opposed to the usual 3 pass method. (With the grain, from the sides and then against the grain.) That surprised me.

- I needed only a nickel-sized amount to cover my face for each pass. The directions didn't lie about that one.

- ZERO irritation. And I mean ZERO. It's almost as if I didn't just drag a sharp razor blade across my face removing the whiskers and at least some of my outermost epidermal layer. This was actually quite impressive.

- I didn't need to go over the 'trouble spots' on my neck like I normally do with all other shaving products I've used in life. Wow!

- Pleasing scent that reminds me of Lemon or some other citrus fruit.

- Would be a MUCH better product to take with you on long airplane flights or camping trips than an aerosol can. The pressure inside of an airplane isn't going to affect a plastic tube that you squeeze to extract the product.

CON

- Using a shaving brush didn't work well FOR ME. Best to use your fingers to work it into your skin.

- Tends to gunk up my safety razor to a point where simply rinsing it under the faucet in the sink doesn't work 100%. I needed to take the razor apart and rinse off each individual piece, including the blade, when I was finished. That may not be such a good idea for guys with butterfingers to be handling a DE blade while they have wet hands. (Mine were dry while doing this, BTW.) This won't be an issue if you use a straight razor. I don't even want to know how guys still using Cartridge Razors would clean up after they're done.

- Costs considerably more than the foam in a can does. $6.99, to be exact. The foam cans cost me $1.47 for the 10 oz. variety at Wal-Mart and $1.00 for the 5oz. at Dollar Tree. However, the price for this cream is competitive with similar products from other manufacturers.

- No 'audio feedback' when shaving the whiskers off of my face. Not hearing them get shaved off was a little strange. I got used to the ASMR-like sound the razor made when cleaving/removing the whiskers with the foam. That's how I knew I was getting results after that initial pass removed most of them that were clearly visible in the mirror. Not sure if this is really bad, but it does require some adjustment on my part.

FINAL JUDGMENT

Barbasol has a real winner here. I think I'll use this for those trouble spots on my neck while using the foam for everything else, including the (almost) everyday shaves. I do feel like I can confidently recommend this product to other men.

This stuff worked surprisingly well. I'm impressed.

A list of companies that I am boycotting and the reasons why

In this age of woke BULLSHIT, there's a lot of companies that decided to cow-tow to these Communist agitators and give in to their demands. Being sane and rational, I decided that these people were either cowardly, foolish or both. Therefore, I cut them off and decided to boycott them all until further notice. (And possibly forever...)

And unlike the 2020 election, this ballot
can't be 'lost' by the post office... :P

Here's the list of companies that got Das Boot and the reasons why:

The Sonic Drive-In by my house...

Why would I boycott a local burger joint? Because I specifically tell them NO mayo and then they slather the sandwich with mayo. When the burger looks like Ron Jeremy splooged all over your lunch, then that is a company that clearly doesn't give a fuck about what the customer wants or is simply incompetent. Either way, they do NOT deserve my business.

McDonald's

Not only are their burgers greasy enough to lube my car's suspension, the service also tends to suck near 100% of the time. Also, their shake machine is always broken. And this is by design. McDonald's has had a decades-long partnership with the company that makes their ice cream machines. Franchise owners are required to use only these machines and only the company's repair techs. It's really expensive for them.

This same ice cream machine manufacturer sells their same product to numerous other fast food franchises like Chick-Fil-A and Wendy's. Yet, those restaurant chains are NOT known for always having a broken shake machine. Coincidence? Not at all. This was by design. McDonald's and their corporate partners are doing this to squeeze money out of their franchise-owners. Simply put, McDonald's is one of the most crooked corporations on Earth, screwing over even their own employees, to say nothing of customers. That is not a company that deserves my business.

Gillette

Remember that bullshit woke ad from January 2020 that accused all men of having toxic masculinity and trying to lecture us all into stopping that (supposed) toxic behavior? If not, you can view it here.

I hate when companies get involved in politics. I just want them to sell me things, not start some annoying (and probably VERY uninformed) discussion on public policy decisions or social issues.

Also, I decided that I was really sick of paying a damned King's ransom for those cartridge razors that they sell under the Gillette Fusion brand. Since then, I have completely changed the way that I shave. I have blogged about this twice. You can read those posts here and here.

Also, that stunt caused Gillette's parent company to lose EIGHT BILLION DOLLARS in the month of January 2020 alone. This is also where the mainstream first heard the phrase 'Get Woke, Go Broke' for the first time. I am not sure when I first heard the phrase, but it was years earlier before that incident.

Netflix

There are many things I could complain about with this company. However, all of them pale in comparison to the fact that they started streaming a movie called 'Cuties', which features 11 year-old girls twerking like strippers. No, I am not exaggerating in any way. Yes, that is quite disgusting and more than enough reason to cancel that subscription. Besides, I don't always have time for watching TV. No need to pay $14 a month for something I won't use.

Also, I wasn't all that crazy about them pushing various Leftist agendas, either. What's the point of putting homosexual characters in damned near every original show of theirs, regardless of whether or not it was thematically relevant to the plot? They also decided to join the corporations supporting the BLM bandwagon, which was also a no-go. That's why I didn't go with Dollar Shave Club when I decided to eject Gillette from my life.

Nike

Their shoes cost too much, don't really last very long anymore and I hate their little shit-stirring 'spokesman' Colin Kaepernick. Therefore, I have no further use for Nike as a company. Screw them. They will never get another damned dime out of me. If I actually watched sports, I'd probably start boycotting the NFL too, just because of that worthless/racist asshole. Let this be a VERY important lesson in the necessity of intense background checks/research about a celebrity/social media influencer before hiring them to do endorsements/promotion campaigns.

Seriously Nike, what made you think that hiring some America-hating racist piece of shit with a Mohammedan girlfriend whispering into his ear like Jezebel was a good idea?

Pepsi

Not only do I prefer Coke products, Dr. Pepper, 7-Up and RC Cola, I am also not happy with them getting rid of Aunt Jemima. Some considered that brand to be based on a racist stereotype, but that is not the image that I had of the brand.

When I thought of Aunt Jemima, I thought about childhood Saturday mornings filled with pancakes for breakfast, cartoons and Nintendo games in the living room. The syrup brands used were often different. It could have been Aunt Jemima, Mrs. Butterworth or Log Cabin. However, Aunt Jemima being gone now means that yet another happy part of my childhood has gone by the wayside. Thanks a lot, Woke Mafia. Bastards...

Also, did anyone else notice that NO ONE seemed to have a problem with Aunt Jemima until 2020? She had been around for over a century by that point. Yet, no one makes any complaints until Corporate America decides to bend over for that domestic terror group called BLM. WTF, Pepsi? Where are your balls?

Sony's PlayStation division

I don't like how they are recording people over the voice chat for online games with the PS4 & PS5, even if I don't typically play online games. Either way, my conversations with other players are my business, not theirs. Why the Hell would they care if I talk smack to my friends and call them a faggot/loser/shitbag/noob/whatever after I owned their ass in a first-person shooter game? That's part of the fun, Jackasses.

Also, their EULA for the PS5 specifically bans talking smack against the Chinese Communist Party anywhere in the world. That violates my freedom of speech as an American. It's also an example of a multi-national corporation helping an EVIL government to subvert Human Liberty. Fuck PlayStation. I will NOT be giving them my business ever again. From this point forward, I'm sticking with Nintendo, PC games and maybe Microsoft if their consoles become more affordable. (And they don't do something that gets them put on this not-so-illustrious list...)

==========

I fully expect this list to get longer over time. However, I think this is enough for a single blog post.

EDIT 22 Jun 2021:

We have one more addition to this awful list...

Victoria's Secret

Truth be told, I have never actually bought anything from this brand for any female acquaintance of mine. However, I won't be changing that in the future, either. Replacing the VS Angels with an ugly and mean-spirited lesbian like Megan Rapinoe turns off every male customer that brand ever had. (And probably quite a few female ones too.)

I know that VS's parent company had to reverse their dwindling sales, but what made them think that this was a good idea? I can just hear the lamentations of adolescent boys across America right now...

EVERY teenaged boy across America right now...

EDIT 20 July 2021:

2 more additions to the list...

Subway Sandwiches

They are getting the boot for the same reason as Victoria's Secret: they hired Megan Rapinoe. Their product quality has also gone down hill in recent years. Their customer service was never really that good at most locations. They also have so many locations that it's hard for franchise owners to make money. Also, they did once have an even worse spokesman with that child molester Jared Fogle. Kinda hard to forget about that, even if the company had no idea that he was the worst kind of degenerate homosexual...

Black Rifle Coffee Company

These people pass themselves off as being patriots. Then they decide to support that domestic terror group Black Lives Matter and disavow Kyle Rittenhouse. I wasn't there when Kyle ended up shooting someone and I will reserve my opinion on that matter until all the facts are revealed. I do like the fact that the guy he shot was a convicted pedophile, though. Thank you for your service to Civilization, Mr. Rittenhouse.

However, supporting BLM is unacceptable. Insulting their customer base doesn't help, either. Looks like I will stick with my favorite local New Orleans brand Community Coffee instead. I love that brand so much that I had friends and relatives at home send it to me while I was stationed overseas in Korea years ago. Black Rifle could have convinced me to try their product eventually, but not now. The owners of that company, like that shitbag John Kerry, are living proof that not all Veterans are good people.

5 weird Sci-Fi movies you need to see/analyze before you die

Just so you know, there are going to be some really weird choices on this list. Some you'd expect, and some you may not have even heard of... All are placed here in alphabetical order since I do not want to make it look like I prefer one of these over the others. This one is also going to be brief and direct. I don't feel the need to go on and on about a bunch of sci-fi movies, even if I am a bit of a nerd.

2001: A Space Odyssey

After discovering a mysterious artifact buried beneath the Lunar surface, mankind sets off on a quest to find its origins with help from intelligent supercomputer H.A.L. 9000. Slow-paced. Has some truly amazing special effects. Has been repeatedly analyzed ad nauseam by film students and scholars since its initial release in 1968. Will mess with your mind a LOT, even if you aren't stoned.

Donnie Darko

After narrowly escaping a bizarre accident, a troubled teenager is plagued by visions of a man in a large rabbit suit who manipulates him to commit a series of crimes. Involves Time Travel paradoxes and LOTS of mind-fuckery. This movie deserves to be more than just a cult favorite. You might also need to brush up on your philosophy for this one. It can get really deep into morality & determinism. You can see the whole movie for free on YouTube here.

Forbidden Planet

A starship crew goes to investigate the silence of a planet's colony only to find two survivors, one of them harboring a deadly secret. THE CLASSIC Sci-Fi film of the 1950s. Influenced Star Trek, Star Wars & Babylon 5 in numerous ways. (Probably many others as well.) First appearance of Robby the Robot. First all electronic soundtrack in film history. 10/10, would recommend to anyone.

Logan's Run

A police officer in the future uncovers the deadly secret behind a society that worships youth. Has scenes of a post-apocalyptic underground society that is completely ignorant of the outside world. Lots of weird shit. Last great epic sci-fi movie before Star Wars changed everything in 1977.

Star Trek: The Motion Picture

When an alien spacecraft of enormous power is determined to be on a course for Earth, Admiral James T. Kirk resumes command of the overhauled USS Enterprise in order to intercept the intruder.

This film tends to cause division among the fan base. Some say it's brilliant, others think it's too slow-paced and dull. I think it's slow-paced AND brilliant.

It has some of the best visuals of any Star Trek adventure ever made and easily the best soundtrack. The Enterprise never looked more beautiful than she does in this film. This film is also as close to hard sci-fi as Star Trek ever got. Go into this one with an open and curious mind, and you will be rewarded with a truly thought-provoking tale.

Also, I got to see this one in theaters in 2019, as part of the 40th anniversary celebration of its release. It was the original theatrical cut. The pacing actually felt right and the visuals still looked absolutely amazing on that silver screen. I love this movie, haters be damned!

Possibly controversial Star Trek opinions

Time to make some nerds REEEEEEE for no reason other than my own amusement...

1.) I prefer the on-screen version of the Ambassador class to the prototype version.

The prototype design that Andrew Probert created just looked weird to me. It could still have worked as one of many ships in the Starfleet, but not as a hero ship bearing the name Enterprise. The version that Rick Sternbach created for Yesterday's Enterprise works better in that role. It looks and feels like the kind of Federation heavy cruiser that would be produced as a successor to the Constitution and Excelsior classes. (While still retaining a lot of influence from both of them...)

Oh yeah... That there is sexy...

2.) I liked the Kelvin Timeline movies. I hope they continue. It's nice to have the characters of Captain Kirk and his crew back in the movies.

This one is going to trigger the ever-lovin' shit out of quite a few people... That being said though, Discovery still sucks.

I would have done something different with the deflector dish and
spaced out the nacelles more. Other than that, this design was nice.

3.) I liked the story behind TMP as well, just because it was so damned weird.

Not to mention it was as close to hard sci-fi as any of the Trek movies ever got. Haters be damned, this was a great story and movie, it just wasn't quite what fans had expected. They thought it would be as action-packed as a typical TOS episode. Roddenberry never had any intention of making that kind of movie. So, to the people who constantly criticize this film, all I have to say is that I am...

Leave it up to a legendary Shitlord like me to find a way to turn
the Enterprise going to warp into an insulting animated GIF meme...

4.) I liked Enterprise from the start.

I liked the design of the ship too, even if it was heavily inspired by the 24th century Akira class. That was all too easy to ret-con in canon. Just say the Akira was inspired by the NX-01. Problem solved.

Although, I do have to admit that the theme song of that show just plain sucked.

This was actually a pretty cool-looking ship.

5.) I liked Voyager BEFORE they got a buxom blonde with curves in all the right places onto the show in season 4.

Also, I really wish they did more with the Starfleet/Maquis conflict among the crew. That was never explored in any great detail.

By the way, I am not complaining about 7 of 9 being on the show at all. I am very fond of that character. She was Voyager's equivalent to Spock, Data & Constable Odo: the alien outsider that in some ways is more Human than any of the other characters. Jeri Ryan did an amazing job with her on Voyager. Too bad that shitbag hack Alex Kurtzman ruined the character in that awful Picard show.

This character should have been named 10 of 10.

6.) The Federation does NOT have a Socialist economy.

Anyone who thinks that is both pretty ignorant of economics and Star Trek trivia. I'll go into more detail about this topic in a separate blog someday.

That being said, how could you think that the Federation was Socialist when the government does NOT have control over the means of production? For that matter how could the Federation's government take control over the means of production? With everyone having a replicator in their home, they could conjure just about anything they need or want out of thin air.
