How to contact your elected officials

If you have any kind of social media account, you've no doubt seen a lot of political shit-posting these last few days because of President Trump's inauguration and the sea change in Washington.

I've engaged in a lot of that shit-posting myself, just for shits and giggles. However, sometimes I feel compelled to actually contact my elected officials. Here's how you go about that process for the Federal level. I won't list state and local levels because that would fill a small book.

Contact Info for Congress

Senate:

Online: http://www.senate.gov/general/contact_information/senators_cfm.cfm

Senate Telephone Switchboard: 202-224-3121

House of Representatives:

Online: http://www.house.gov/representatives/

House Telephone Switchboard: 202-224-3121

Contact Info for the White House

Mailing Address:

The White House
1600 Pennsylvania Avenue NW
Washington, DC 20500

Comment line: 202-456-1111

Switchboard: 202-456-1414

Online contact info/e-mail submissions:

And that is how you contact your elected officials and let them know what you think/feel/want them to do about various issues. Please be sure to be polite and respectful to them, especially if you didn't vote for them. Remember, we are all Humans and we all have our own perspective. None of us are 100% right or wrong all of the time or anything resembling perfect. Leadership is never easy, especially when you're part of the leadership for the reigning global Super Power and answer to a population of over 308 Million souls.
