Those damned crooks in Baton Rouge want to tax my Netflix!!!

Those thieving bastards in Baton Rouge are at it again, this time wanting to tax streaming services like Netflix. They want to tax streaming services to help make up for the budget shortfall this year. However, I refused to tolerate that and immediately e-mailed my state representative, Kirk Talbot. Here's what the message said...

Dear Representative Talbot,

I recently read in the New Orleans Advocate that the state legislature will soon consider passing a tax on streaming services like Netflix, Hulu and Amazon Prime.

As one of your constituents, I would like to express my outright condemnation at this idea. I've been financially struggling for quite some time now. I can't afford any new taxes, especially on the one form of entertainment that's actually affordable for me. This tax would not help the state to get more money from me. It will just make me stop using Netflix.

As your constituent, I strongly urge you to oppose this measure and do everything in your power to convince your fellow representatives to follow suit.

Kindest regards,

Lord Publius

I had my real name in the e-mail but, I'm obviously not posting that here. If you live in Louisiana House District 78 and want to contact Representative Talbot, you can do so by the following methods:

If you aren't sure who you're representative in the Louisiana Legislature is, you can find out my going to this website here: https://www.legis.la.gov/legis/Contacts.aspx

  1. UPDATE: Just got a reply e-mail from Mr. Talbot's office. They are giving a copy of my e-mail to them to the Representative. Contacting your elected officials ACTUALLY DOES work sometimes. :)
